St George’s Avenue

This large north facing garden was an interesting brief. There were large protected trees at the back and several mature shrubs that were well suited to the site. However, the garden was disjointed and the bottom of the garden was impassable. The client wanted the garden to feel wild and adventure like as you walked to the end of the garden, what a great brief.

I therefore created a series of garden rooms within the space, the first being a more formal lawn section, with simple blousy perennial flowers with all year interest. The bottom of the garden became a secret woodland space with lush planting, and multiple pathways through to create this sense of adventure. I also suggested a natural hazel wigwam covered in climbers for their young son to play in.
